Recently my brother and I had the very sad task of arranging our Mum’s funeral.
I contacted 2 or 3 catering companies for quotes. When I spoke to Maxine directly on the phone (I decided then and there that I would be using Fresh Start) She had a lovely manner and was quick to put me at my ease which I appreciated and assured me that everything would be done the way I requested. The way she dealt with my requests was always with a “can-do” attitude.
We wanted an afternoon tea menu with sandwiches and cake etc. The menu that she and Jeremy devised was absolutely perfect: Sandwiches, chicken goujons, sausage rolls and mini vol au vents with 2 types of cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam (home-made if I’m not mistaken).
Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and Maxine kept in touch regularly by text and phone to let us know how the arrangements were going.
On the day Jeremy arrived in his chef’s whites in plenty of time to set up, and when we arrived back from the funeral the buffet was laid out and Jeremy was waiting to make sure everyone had a cup of tea, coffee or glass of juice as soon as we came in.
The buffet was splendid all laid out on flats with proper covers on – not a piece of cling film in sight. There were linen tablecloths and napkins and proper china, glassware and cutlery.
The attention to detail was second to none, as was Jeremys’ service. He worked quietly and efficiently all afternoon ensuring everyone had everything they needed. The dirty crockery etc. was cleared away almost without noticing. Jeremy was very respectful and kind to both myself and my brother and indeed all the other mourners.
At the end of the afternoon everything was cleared away with the minimum fuss.
Everyone who attended said it was a most delicious buffet and they were all very complimentary on the quantity and quality of all the food and also the service.
We would have no hesitation at all in recommending Maxine and Jeremy to anyone.
